About Us

An Interdisciplinary & International Team

The Earth is a complex, dynamic and ever changing system, and thus our research in the geosciences requires an interdisciplinary approach that draws on fields such as geology, geography, atmospheric science, education, physics, engineering, computer science, and ecology. As geomorphologists, we take part in analyzing a variety of earth processes and landscapes to increase our understanding of natural processes and landforms, and to help people and communities in their interactions with their environments.

Geomorphology is a broad field with a diverse range of topics that present us with many exciting research opportunities. Our group illustrates this diversity as different members pursue a wide variety of interests: watersheds, land use change, hydrology, glacial geomorphology, ice sheet chronology, and geoscience education research. Our group is enriched by this variety of interests, as well as by the gender, ethnicity, age, and national origin diversity of its members.
The research done in this group is geared towards solving issues ranging from a local to global scale, and often involves interdisciplinary collaboration with other groups at Purdue, within the US and internationally. Despite the wide range and scale of projects, we remain a cohesive team by having weekly meetings to share ideas and solve problems.
