Summer Workshops
The Standards-Based Integrated Instruction (SBII) project seeks to enhance instruction in Indiana’s schools by providing professional development opportunities for teachers in grades K-8 leading to:
- Standards-based curricula that is transparent to teachers as fundamental, interconnected concepts in science, mathematics, and social studies.
- Increased science, mathematics, and social studies content knowledge.
- Increased knowledge of science, mathematics, and social studies processes and national/state standards incorporating multiple indicators from process related standards.
- An understanding of pedagogical practices targeting hands-on, authentic, inquiry based activities.
- Authentic assessment that informs teaching and learning.
- On-going pedagogical and technical support for participating educators.
- Classroom-ready materials that help teachers illuminate the connections between science, mathematics, and social studies content and their applications in the real world.
- Leadership development training.
