The top states for employment were Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, South Carolina.

Graduate schools selected were U of Colorado, Colorado State, Florida State U, Georgia Tech, U of Iowa, U of Wisconsin.

The Occupational Employment Statistics for 2008-2009 list the median annual wage of atmospheric scientists as $81,290 with the average Federal salary at $93,661. For geoscientists the median annual wage was $79,160 with the average Federal salary as $94,085. (Employment demand greater than supply in this field). The median wage for secondary teachers was $52,200.
