Requirements for Entry into the Upper Division in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences

A student pursuing a major in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences must satisfy the following before being permitted to enter the upper division:
For students starting Fall 2003, or after, you must complete MA16100, MA 16200, CHM 11500, CHM 11600, and PHYS 17200 or equivalents each with a grade of C- or better.
Completion of required lower division courses in the student's major area each with a grade of C- or better.
For the application of these requirements, entry into the upper division is defined as registration for the semester which includes EAS 35300 Surface Processes or EAS 35400 Plate Tectonics (for solid earth programs) or EAS 32000 Physics of Climate (for atmospheric science) in the course selection.
Graduation Requirements

To graduate in any of the earth and atmospheric science majors, a student must have an average grade point index of 2.00 or above in earth and atmospheric science courses required for the major. This requirement applies to students who enrolled in their EAS major after the Fall Semester of 2001.
Your electives (EAS, Science/Engineering/Agriculture, General Education, and Free Electives) and your EAS major courses (including the summer geology field camp for the Geology and Teaching majors) must add up to 32 hours of courses numbered 30000 and above to meet University graduation requirements.
All College of Science students must earn a total of 124 credit hours of approved courses to graduate.
