Linux kernel update scheduled on August 18

An update of the Linux kernel on all machines upgraded to RHEL 5 before August 11 will be done on Tuesday, August 18 at 7:00 AM. This kernel update provides several security fixes, plus a fix for some NFS latency issues. The update will coincide with a previously-scheduled hypocenter outage in order to minimize the effect on EAS users. The update will require a reboot.
