Camera/Camcorder
There is a GeoVision Micro Borehole Camera availabe for checkout. Please see Dee for assistance.
There is also an 8mm Video Camcorder available for checkout. Please see one of the secretaries in CIVL 2169 to make a reservation.
Computer lab
The department maintains a computer lab for instructional use in CIVL 4247. The lab contains 17 Linux computers and 17 Windows computers. Each workstation has one of each, sharing a common keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The instructor workstation also has an extra cable to allow laptop hookup for projection.
The Linux computers use the EAS Linux setup found in research labs across the department. The Windows computers are supported by the ITaP TLT group and are thus identical to ITaP labs and TIC sites across campus. Software requests for the lab should be submitted at least two weeks before the software is needed, to provide time for the software to be loaded and tested.
File server
The department maintains a file server (hypocenter.eas.purdue.edu) for the storage of files pertaining to departmental operations. Faculty and staff received 10GB of personally-assigned space. Graduate students receive 2GB of personally-assigned space upon requests. Group shared space is available for purchase. All data stored on hypocenter is backed up nightly. File transfer
The department maintains a server (sftp.eas.purdue.edu) for file transfer to colleagues on- or off-campus. Space is available in 10GB slices. Since authentication is required, off-campus users will need to have a Request for Privileges filled out (these are available from the Business Office). Laptops
A Windows and Mac laptop are available for checkout. Please request these at least two business days in advance by contacting eas-help@purdue.edu.
Map scanner
The EAS Library has a large-format scanner available to scan maps and other oversized documents. It is available from 8-5 Monday through Friday in CIVL 2253 (enter through the EAS Library entrance, room 2215).
Poster Printer
There is a large format poster printer located in CIVL 2296. Access to the poster printer in only available from the machine next to the printer. This machine has Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, and Publisher loaded. There are two types of paper available (plain and glossy) available in two sizes (36" and 42" wide). If you need to have the paper changed, please send a message to eas-help@purdue.edu.
The poster printer can become very busy before major conferences. There is a sign-up sheet located on the door of CIVL 2296 during the high-volume times.
Printers
EAS has four shared network printers. These are:

- civl3277lbw2 - HP LaserJet P4015
- civl4257lbw1 - HP LaserJet 8100dn

Projectors
There are several projectors available for checkout. Please see one of the secretaries in CIVL 2169 to make a reservation.
Video conferencing
Purdue has a license agreement with Adobe which allows users to use Adobe Connect (formerly known as "Breeze") to conduct video conferences. Adobe Connect is available at: http://gomeet.itap.purdue.edu/
If you have your own microphone and web cam, you can use that with Adobe Connect. If not, you can check out the department's video conferencing cart, which has a computer, camera, and microphone. To reserve the cart, send an e-mail to eas-help@purdue.edu.
