Windows

Please find below FAQ's for Windows computers:

Some of my icons are missing from my desktop, how can I get them back?

The Windows Desktop, My Documents, and IE Favorites are redirected to your Purdue Career Account space (H:). Occasionally a network glitch can cause you to lose your connection to 'stone', the Purdue Career Account server. When this occurs, your icons disappear.

Sometimes, after simply pressing the F5 "refresh" key your icons will reappear.

You can also try the following:

Select 'Start'

Select 'Run'

Enter 'gpupdate /force'

As long as 'stone' is available and your network connection is not malfunctioning, restarting your machine should solve the problem.

If these suggestions do not take of the problem, please send an e-mail to eas-help@purdue.edu.
